Better be familar with other issues of photoshop 
The book is good and concise if you are familar with some of the functions that are carryovers from previous editions if you are not you will be confused with some of the steps.
Very helpful book. 
I have enjoyed reading this book and still occasionally reference it. There are some nice tips and the steps are very easy to follow. I enjoy the way Kelby writes his books. He makes it entertaining while learning.
adobe photoshop cs3 by scott kelby
I highly recommend any of scott kelby's books! His books are written in very easy to understand instructions. A must have for photographers of all levels!
An okay reference for Photoshop CS3. 
I just do not find Scott Kelby's writing and instruction to be all that good. I am sure it works for other people but not for me. But the book is better than nothing.

This an excellent book full of informative information that can be used and understood by anyone.
